I rode a total of 100 miles around the monument today. Air temp maxed at about 63 and the dust was still down from last week's rain. In short: perfect. I took some time to photograph some of the old farm implements at Traver Ranch. The roads are all in great shape, with a few spots on Panorama and Simmler roads that always get boggy after rain. Soda Lake road has been recently graded North of Traver Ranch, while the Southern sections remain washboard. Elkhorn road is fine, with the annual tumbleweed migration in full swing. There were a couple of spots where there have obviously been wash-overs, but it is still good. Up at Selby Camp I spoke at length with a ranger who expressed concern over 'kids on bikes' venturing off road. I saw several examples of evidence for his comments. Please folks, this is a SCENIC ride, not a technical one. Stay on the developed (read GRADED) roads.

Anywho.. today's ride was a glorious one, to be sure.
